Hair Transplant Methods
You have decided to have a hair transplant; When you do a little research, you will see that there is more than one method for a hair transplant. So, which hair transplant technique is right for you? Which is the most affordable hair transplant technique or the best hair transplant technique? Let’s examine the methods of hair transplants to answer these questions …
What are the Hair Transplant Techniques?
Today, many hair transplants and haircare centers offer different techniques such as FUE, FUT, DHI, Sapphire Percutan hair transplantation and mesotherapy. The mode of application and duration of the operations are decisive here. Let’s explain the techniques one by one:
Hair Transplant with the FUT Technique (Follicular Unit Transplant)
It is an application where a thin layer of skin is removed from the nape of the neck and then arranged in the laboratory and transplanted in the desired area. The FUT hair transplant technique can be defined as the father of all hair transplantation techniques. The first hair transplant was performed in this way. However, over time, different techniques have been developed based on this technique, which surpasses it and offers better results.
Despite its relatively affordable price, it is not a very preferred method today. Because both the result not being very natural and there is a scar on the nape of the neck that appears under the short hairs. The healing process is longer than other techniques.
Hair Transplant with The FUE Technique (Follicular Unit Extraction)
This application is completed by removing hair follicle or a group of follicles from the nape of the neck and adding it to the desired location. A perforation technique is used to remove the follicles from the skin, by making a small circular cut in the skin and leaving a small open hole. Because of this drilling technique, the scars heal faster than the FUT technique.
Direct Hair Implantation by the DHI Technique (Direct Hair Implantation)
In this technique, only punches with a diameter of 1 mm or smaller are used to individually pick up the hairs from the donor area. By placing the hair follicles in the holes with forceps, the angle, direction and even depth are arranged during the implant. Therefore, there is no removal of a piece of skin from the neck and no stitches are applied to the scalp. The procedure is painless and no visible scarring occurs at the end of the transplant. When the hair transplant is performed by the DHI technique, the recovery time is shorter than the FUT and the FUE techniques.
Hair Transplant with The Sapphire Percutaneous Technique
Hair follicles are usually taken from the neck, ie the back of the head. In the areas where hair follicles will be planted, round holes are drilled with special blades. Unlike FUE and DHi techniques, these holes are not flat but round shaped. Thanks to these round holes, the roots planted here develop faster. On the other hand, angleing becomes easier and the result is much more natural. The most important advantage of this technique is to plant the holes with the right angles specially drilled for each hair strand. Here, the hair follicles usually stick to the position where they are transplanted to more firmly.
In summary; The loss of planted hair is much less when the hair transplant is done with the percutaneous technique. In addition, recovery is observed after 2-3 days. There is no scars in the transplant region. Edema can usually be seen on the face of patients after a hair transplant, but the use of isotonic fluid in the percutaneous technique is very low and therefore no edema is seen. Although the percutaneous hair transplant is ideal in terms of patient comfort and natural results, it is difficult to find a specialist in the world who can apply this technique. Furthermore, the process of applying the technique is very laborious. Therefore, the percutaneous technique can be a relatively expensive technique to have in a hair transplant.
What are the Differences of The Hair Transplant Techniques?
The first studies in the field of hair transplantation started in the 1990s. After that, techniques have been developed with continuous studies and today, new techniques that maximize patient comfort are applied successfully in the hands of experts.
Although the techniques are very similar, there are some fundamental differences. For example, the main difference between FUT and FUE techniques is how the donor follicles are extracted. On the other hand, there is scarring in the FUT technique, while there are fewer scars in the FUE technique, and no scarring in the DHI technique. There may also be differences in the healing process, the ability to angle the hair while planting, and achievement of natural results.
What is the best hair transplant technique?
It would be wrong to say “This is the best hair transplant technique”. Here, the hair structure of the person, the condition of the hair follicles, the desired result and other aspects are decisive. The planting technique should be determined according to the person’s expectation and the foresight of the hair transplant specialist.
What is the least expensive hair transplant method?
Of course, a hair transplant at an affordable price is important. However, this should not be a priority in the search. First, you need to decide which hair transplant method to make your hair fuller. Then it is important to find a reliable technical team and hair transplantspecialist who will meet this request in the healthiest way. Otherwise, just focusing on a hair transplant at an affordable price can sometimes have very uncomfortable results.
As I mentioned above, rushing to get a cheap hair transplant can sometimes lead to unwanted results. For example, the result may be far from a natural appearance after the procedure which has not been performed by expert hands. On the other hand, you may have a low follicle survival rate, which may cause you to have to repeat the procedure and you will end up paying more money when you thought you were having a lower priced hair transplant. Worse, the donor area can be damaged too far to be corrected.
Hair Transplant and Having Fuller Hair….
Research on the science of aesthetics shows that fuller and healthier hair gives a message to our subconscious as an indicator of youth and health for both women and men. In other words, we put people into categories like old or tired even if they are young and when they have thinning or shedding hair. This increases the aesthetic importance of hair. Many men and women want their hair to look full, healthy and vibrant. Also, hair is a very important natural accessory and a powerful detail that reinforces the personal image. Naturally, the appearance of unhealthy, rickety hair and hair shedding can cause a lack of self-confidence. Nowadays, it is possible to strengthen the hair follicles with mesotherapy and get comfortable fuller hair in a short amount of time with the help of such hair transplant techniques.
